Organization: We are an international oriented study group, founded in 1987. At present there are more than 300 domestic and international members. To become a member of our organization requires not to be also a member of the German Cactus Society, even though the targets are the same
Targets and purpose: Our targets are to study the genus Echinocereus, to contribute to further exploration and studies (Biology, systematic, morphology, evolution) and to perform active protection of species by means of reproduction of Echinocerei by seeds and distribution by exchange of plants with friends of Echinocerei. This causes indirect protection of the natural habitat.
Conventions: There is a spring and a autumn convention. The conventions include presentations to special subjects, exchange of experience, field trip reports, reports about new species and presentation of new results concerning relationship within the Genus Echinocereus.
Publications: Our journal “Der Echinocereenfreund” (Ecf) being published quarterly. It includes 32 pages of interesting articles and many picture oder photographs. The journal is published in German language. Demand oriented we publish monographs as special editions especially to subjects discussed at our conventions.

Membership fee: The annual membership fee is 22,00 Euro for domestic and 24,00 Euro for international members. Membership fee includes the 4 journal published quarterly. The price for the special editions will be defined separate.
